(@tom_fw) The past week has been hectic during to Toronto’s Men Fashion Week Spring/Summer Collection 2017. This is my first year covering men fashion on my blog, in the past years I have featured a few glimpse of them during Toronto Fashion Week posts (example: Bustle, Candace Daniela). However, during the past week I have been fully focused on just men fashion. Here are some of my favourite pieces from each designer.
Diodati by Luca Galardo (@diodatioofficial)
Diodati’s Style is best described as androgynous minimalism. Diodati is designed for the person uninhibited by societal ideals. The 2017 Spring/Summer Diodati collection is very settled with ease and simplicity are the key aspect. With settled colours and relaxed textured material the Diodati collection is perfect for audience who love comfort.
(There were some pieces such as his t-shirts that I would love to include in my closet)
Montreal-based designer, Xiang Wang, launched his menswear label to offer a modern hybrid of luxury and street wear. XIAN’s collection is known for inducing bold attitude with innovative silhouettes and progressive construction within the contemporary fashion market. XIAN acts as a catalyst for audacious influencers and pioneers alike. Double tone colour with different textures, is one of the highlights of XIAN’s runway show.
Candace Daniela (@candacedaniela)
Candace Daniela is a Canadian contemporary outerwear label established in 2014. Designed and manufactured in Toronto using luxury and eco-friendly fabrics like alpaca wool, Canadian lambs leather and organic waxed cottons, designer Candace Daniela creates bold outerwear pieces for both men and women across North America. Her collection had some floral patterns and bright colours that made the runway glow.
For the upcoming Spring/Summer 2017, Finezza will bring you between the alluring City of Paris and the French countryside through the sharp eyes of Ivan Lehec’s design and styling, always in search of excellence with a combination of history and design innovation. The nostalgia of summers past, the simplicity and freshness of the French countryside, the refinement of elegance in its simplest definition, the romantic side of a French Gentleman, all will be revealed on the runway of Toronto Men’s Fashion Week. Once again, they have found the consistency that makes the reputation of Finezza, the wealth in noble fabrics, diversity of colors and patterns.
TOM*SS17 DAY 1 - Hendrixroe
Photography by: Shayne Gray | Photography
HENDRIXROE fashion label was inspired by Jimi Hendrix and Marilyn Monroe. From a young age JEM would watch old Marilyn Monroe movies and afterwards play dress-up in her mothers extravagant closet, where paying close attention to the details became engrained in her ideals: Construction, fabric, and fine lines over popular labels. The music of Jimi Hendrix always inspired her, she grew obsessed and would always try to emulate his ultra cool rockstar style. Together they inspired the the "glamorous rocker couture” look HENDRIXROE has become known for.
What do you think of these designers and their looks??
