Back 2 School: Your Questions & My Answers

In one of my past blog post I asked  you guys (my readers/my followers) if you wanted me to cover any "back to school" topics/issues/& concerns that you may have before school starts =)
And after that post I received tons of emails filled with tons of questions.

Somehow, many of the questions correlated to one another. So, I have decided to answer the top three (main asked) questions.

The first most requested questions is based on "how to manage time"?
"Why do I feel as if I never have enough time to do my homework read my notes r even finish my readings?"
"Sorry for bothering you, but this is a question that I ask myself each day from elementary school til today, on how to use my time properly?"
"The due dates are always to close to one another"
"Less time to finish everything and I don't know what to do"
"I already started to slack off at the end of grade ten, now I feel as if I am gonna screw up"
My response from my point of view:
Two years ago in highschool, I too faced problems with managing my time properly. However, as year went by I learned to manage time better by creating a monthly calendar that lists important due dates for assignments, tests, projects and etc. This helped me to plan ahead. Or if you want you could also create a weekly calendar, time to time I use this method especially during the exam periods. This type of calendar will be filled with tasks that you can complete each day. Also, another tip when you create a list if would be helpful if you label them by the due dates and also how much each items worth so you can decided on what to more important.

The second most requested questions is based on "too much reading"?
"I hate to read but now I don't have a choice for grade 8, what can I do?"
"I am going to college and I am an international student living in the states. What should I do to improve my reading habits"
"I can't believe, I am in college already! How ever, I was wondering if you can give me any tips on how to improve my reading strategies this year"
My response from my point of view:
I too something complain that reading suck but during this summer break I ended up spending most of my time reading books, comics and magazines. My tips for reducing your reading load is that as soon as you receive the course syllabus, start by breaking down the semester's reading materials. Also spend about five hours each week per course for reading and note taking. Plus, take notes as you read or you will forget everything later. I find reading really helpful to pass time while I am taking the transit home and etc.

The third most requested questions "what do you think are the main top mistakes that students make in school?"
My response from my point of view:
My top five mistakes made by students (and me) are:
1) Procrastinating
2) Skipping classes
3) Not knowing how to study
4) Not making the efforts to change some habits (like leaving everything to the last minute)
5) Not using the resources giving by the teachers/professeurs

So, as I mentioned earlier this is my top three questions mainly asked questions. Hope my response help you and also remember that these answers are all from my point of view/ from my experience.

Well, have a lovely day
and
to those who have already started school
or
will be going back to school this year
Good Luck
=)

My Safari Experience

After yesterday's post, I received any question for my lovely readers... (so thank you)!

One of them was from Toronto resident, Ryanna. She asked me to "If I have ever been to the African Safari and did u lke it" (I reworded the question).

Yes Ryanna I have been to the African Safari, but it's been exactly exactly two years thou. I went there on August 2009. So, my experience might be a little less updated... but still here is my experience (from what I can remember).
All the photos above were taken by me... if you would like to use any of the photo on my blog please email me: mylyfemystory@gmail.com or tweet me @MyLyfeMyStory

It was an amazing experience been so closed to wild animals was amazing! I ended taking tins of photos and videos on that trip. I loved everything on that trip, I ended up watching a elephant dance show, an animal parade, pet barn animals, wild birds show and finally a parrot show. I also, got a chance to ride on the boat that takes up close to view monkey's habitat. But what still stick to my mind is the way animals jumped right on to each vehicles that was passing by.

It was a wonderful trip and would love to go there again!

Hope this help Ryanna and you should definitely go there. And to all my readers if you are ever planning a trip you should definitely go to the African Safari - it's a wonderful experience!

Take Care and hopefully I write another post tmmr.

Also, I just realized from the emails I got yesterday that I have tons of kids in the mid-teens reading blog =) And the most request questions are all related to "Back to School" so I am thinking about dedicating a few post just for "Back to School" - What so you guys think about this idea?

DIY: Club Couture ReVamped

It's officially the month of August... and have anyone realized that the year 2011 is almost over! It surprises me a ton, since every year I used to complain that the month of June & July are the slowest months. However this year, it already done! To come to think of it, I haven't even done anything during those two months (for instances my blog - didn't write many post as I had planned) but still I ended up having lectures four days a week and work. What do you think? Is this year, 2011 going fast or is it just me?

This post is going be DIY project/Revamp. It's actually an answer to one of my reader's question.
Michelle asked: "Hey Harija, i hve a pair of flats, i luv... but it got out of style and i dont knoe wat 2 do w/ it. can u do a post on how 2 change something old 2 look brand new w/ style? Pls make it really really simple"
So, thank you Michelle for this lovely question and here is my post dedicated to your question!
(Hope you and my readers like it)

Since it's the first week of a new month (August) I decided to do a revamp post.

Here is a simple two step tutorial on how to add little glam to your plain pair of flats.
I used my gray flats since I had it for a while and plus I wear it mostly everywhere (since it goes with everything in my closet).

List of items:
- Pair of flats
- Something cute to add on
- Glue Gun
- Glue Stick

Then the steps are clearly simple!
1) Heat up the glue gun and place the glue stick in the slot.
2) Then use the hot glue and place one of the small bow on one of flats and do this step again to the next flat.
Then just leave to dry, but that only takes a few seconds. After that you can wear out where ever you what.
It's really simple and the finished product also looks awesome!

Hope you all like my first ever DIY/Revamp project and hope this helps you Michelle. Also, thank you asking me this question.

If you have any questions that you would like to address me be free to message me @MyLyfeMyStory

Also, this month I would definitely do more post and have a lovely day!
